the boy who lived has come to hogwarts. news of his arrival is all the buzz - not just at hogwarts, but in the rest of the wizarding world as well. however, there are others who just want to live their lives, ignorant to the dangers that have come through the doors of hogwarts this term as well.
Spring is here and so is a quick little Activity Check. Just one post required. Make sure to post there by the end of the month. (:

Mathias was still in a bit of shock about the fact that he was a wizard. He had a wand and everything! He had enjoyed his first classes and as the first couple of weeks of school went by had formed favorites as well as classes he wasn't overly fond of. Mathias especially loved the greenhouses and that was where he tended to spend most of his time.
Mathias was also very much enjoying exploring his new school with its magical nooks and crannies. The portraits spoke, which was more than a little mind blowing to the young Hufflepuff. Wandering through the corridor near his common room, he was looking up at a painting of a knight that was talking about his life. It was... a little boring but Mat felt too polite to just leave.
It was still weird being in the castle, finding her way around and all. The moving staircases were so weird to Wallis, and all the new magic stuff that her parents had not shown her yet was so awesome!
As she walked the corridors, hoping to see some more cool stuff, she saw a boy talking with a portrait. It was a little odd, yes, but she had known that the portraits talked. She watched this one drone on about itself for a little while before respectfully approaching. "What's going on?" she asked both the boy and the portrait. Wallis could not imagine why this boy wanted to listen to the portraits. Mostly, she thought, they were stuck up, as if someone had given them great honor by making them into a wall decoration.
She tried to make sure she could see the boy's lips, in case his voice wasn't loud enough.
“Nothing,” Mathias said, wondering why she was asking a question like that. It was fairly obvious that he was just listening to the portrait talk, he had thought. “The portrait here was just telling me his life story.” It hadn’t been a very exciting one either. Then again, maybe it was and the portrait only made it seem a bore because of his monotone voice.
