((We won't be having any Quidditch mechanics here - strictly roleplaying. Just make sure not to do any fouls or your character/team will have a penalty. Ex. Only Beaters can use Beater Bats against Bludgers. The reason for no Quidditch mechanics in this game only is because it's important to the plot that Harry catch the Snitch like he does since the whole 'open at the close' thing.))

TIME: November 1991

It was a warm day for November and the first match of the season. Gryffindor had a new Seeker - the youngest one in approximately a century, or at least that's what everyone was saying. That was the biggest gossip of the game, as well as the expectant high rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin like there always was.

The players walked out onto the field to erupted cheers and hollars. Eventually, everything settled down a bit so they could start the game. The Captains shook hands and then the Snitch was released. It flitted around for a bit around the players before disappearing off into the sky or hovering over someone's ear, no one really knew where it liked to go and that was the whole point. The Bludgers were then released and then the Quaffle was thrown into the air. Madam Hooch blew the whistle and the players took off into the air and the game began.

--------------

Eliza was in the stands with some of her friends watching the game. She was a little nervous for Harry as they hadn't even finished their first year of Flying class yet. He grew up in the muggle world with her and yet somehow seemed to be a natural on a broomstick. Eliza wasn't so bad in class but she definitely wasn't good enough to be playing sports while flying in the air. But one day she hoped she could join the team as well. She knew that Hermione had no desire to be up so high playing sports on a broomstick and maybe she would change her mind but Eliza knew already that she would love to play.

Professional Quidditch matches weren't something Albus had time to attend, but he always made time to watch the Hogwarts matches. And the Gryffindor vs Slytherin one was always a match that reminded many just how rivaled the two houses were. More importantly, however, Albus wanted to see how young Harry Potter was going to do in his first match. Though if what Minerva had told him was anything to go by, he already had his father's talent.

Minerva sat next to Lee Jordan with the sole intention of making sure his game announcements stayed within the protocol. But her thoughts were on Harry Potter, and the older witch was quite eager to see how well Harry would do for his first game. She didn't want to count her chickens before they were hatched, but she had a brilliant feeling about this match.

Arachne had never actually seen a Quidditch game before, but she knew enough about it from reading. Books and learning took prominence over games and whatnot in her household, especially with her parents so heavy in the Astronomy field. Though she doubted her muggle father would care much for Quidditch anyways. Still, she looked out at each flier eagerly as she waited to see which house would triumph. Though as mean as most of Slytherin looked, she hoped Gryffindor would prevale.

Constance and her twin stood among the other Slytherins as they watched the teams fly. While the two of them obviously wanted their own house to win, seeing Harry Potter fail was something they wanted even more. It would almost be worth losing if they could also see him sorely injured or unable to play ever again.

Claudia stood next to Constance watching the Quidditch players. Her eyes were focused more on those from her own house, though she couldn't help but follow Harry Potter's movements. Voicing what she knew she and her twin had likely both been thinking, Claudia said with a sneer, "Do you suppose he'll fall and crack his head open?"

Draco was furious. Not only had famous Harry Potter been allowed to violate school rules by having a broom, but they had ACTUALLY allowed him on the team. The school was going to the dogs. Still, Draco watched with a mischievous grin on his face as he cheered for the Slytherin team. He only hoped one of those beaters would be able to knock Potter off of his broom.

Ellie hadn't necessarily wanted to go to the game for one single fact; too many people! She was surrounded by them! She couldn't move an inch without bumping into somebody. Still, as Eliza had voiced her excitement, Ellie decided to go to follow her to the game and cheer on her team. Even if the rules of the game still baffled her a bit.

Invidia flew around with the rest of the Slytherin team with her beater's bat in hand. While she wanted to win and keep her team safe, Invidia also wanted to bash a few Gryffindork skulls in. And that's just what she planned to do. She caught sight of Harry Potter and flashed him a devious, evil grin before flying off towards one of the bludgers.

Laurent had two goals in mind for the game. For one, he really wanted to see Slytherin lose. But he also wanted to see how the new Gryffindor Seeker performed. He was quite impressed that Harry had been accepted on the team so quickly after joining the school. Even if his team would, eventually, have to face him

Penelope stood in the stands among other students with a large smile on her face. Of course, she was cheering for Gryffindor to triumph. Not just because she didn't like or trust Slytherins, but because it only felt necessary to cheer for Percy's house team. When Ravenclaw played Gryffindor, however, she fully planned on Ravenclaw triumphing.

Quirrell sat in the stands among a few other professors and some random Hogwarts Governors he didn't know or care about. His eyes locked on Harry Potter, but he kept the same casual, innocent expression on his face. Pushing his plan into action right away would look too suspicious. He needed to wait until the game was in full swing, and then catch the boy off guard.

Katrina didn't really have much interest in Quidditch. She hated how intense the games could get sometimes. A game against Slytherin was bound to be somewhat of a bloodbath. Kat was just here to support Gryffindor. and she had heard word around the school was that there was a new seeker and he was the youngest in at least a century. Kat was sitting next to some of her friends and fellow prefects from Ravenclaw, Laurent and Penelope as she watched the game.

Hermione was nervous. She thought it was completely irresponsible of McGonagall to allow Harry to play this game, especially considering he only learned how to get on a broom a few weeks ago. Hermione didn't deny he had talent, but it was a dangerous game, and he was half the size of most other players so the dangers nothing but doubled in Harry's case.

Nevertheless, Harry was her friend, and after he and Ron rescued her from that horrid troll on Halloween, it was the least she could do to make sure she could be the best support for Harry she could. The last couple of days, having completed all her assignment homework and extra credit assignments, she had been reading up in the library on the mechanics of Quidditch to better understand the rules and intricacies of the game.

After breakfast, Harry left to prepare for the match, and Hermione and Ron meandered down to the pitch with the rest of the spectating students. Being so small, Hermione pushed through the crowds to make sure they were in the front, so as to be able to see Harry clearly.

Boy, was she nervous.

She spotted Eliza, and Hagrid, who, granted, was not so difficult to find, and pushed her way toward them, assuming Ron was tagging along behind her.

What a nice day to be outside. Slytherin that would be crushing Gryffindor. It would only take some time. He wore a highly expensive coat from the Slytherin house bought by his parents as he looked right up with all the fellow Slytherins, "Come on! Hit those bludgers to Potter! Make him fall!" He wanted to exclaim, but rather spoke with a sighing noise at the end. The seeker that got the Snitch would win the match most likely. Make Potter fall off his broom and that problem is solved...
