the boy who lived has come to hogwarts. news of his arrival is all the buzz - not just at hogwarts, but in the rest of the wizarding world as well. however, there are others who just want to live their lives, ignorant to the dangers that have come through the doors of hogwarts this term as well.

We have a new skin. We hope you enjoy it. we're nearing 2 months old and will have an activity check up in a few weeks too.
It's now November and it's time for the first Quidditch game of the season!
Eliza had been there for a few weeks already and she was loving it. It was quite an adjustment to living in a world with magic and she already got her foot stuck in the marble staircase once. But she swore she wouldn't again! Of course, that led to her being a little too paranoid when she got near the spot where she thought it was, but it was worth saving herself from the embarrassment.
At the moment, Eliza already had lots of homework and was working on it in the common room. It was just after supper and she had a Charms essay to write and then some Astronomy reading to do if she had time.
It only took an hour, but she did finish her Charms essay. She looked around at all of the other students enjoying their time off, however, and she didn't really want to do any more work at the moment.
Since receiving her letter to actually taking classes, learning how to be a witch, Hermione had done nothing but work - and she absolutely loved it! She was learning to be a witch - she was a witch. That fact in itself meant so much to her and her family. The doors it opened up, the questions it raised, all of it was simply incredible. Of course she was going to stop at nothing to learn everything she could about magic and the wizarding world that she was now a part of.
Having already done her homework, and read ahead in all her subjects, Hermione sensibly walked down the winding staircase to find space in the common room to sit and read at leisure - a book detailing the effects of doxy venom. Pure. Bliss.
The common room was relatively lively, which she didn't mind. She scanned the room briefly, presuming she wouldn't spot anyone she knew, when her eyes fell on Eliza. She had barely spoken to Eliza, despite the fact that they were dormmates. Hermione had been so focused on school that she'd rarely given herself over to the time consuming activity of trying to make friends immediately. The closest she had come in that regard was Harry Potter, but even then, he seemed to be preoccupied with other things at the best of times, putting up with Ron Weasley taking up the majority, surely.
Having finished all her homework anyway, she thought she could afford the chance to try to make some more friends. Eliza looked to be in a break in her work, and so Hermione walked over confidently. "Hello Eliza. Doing some schoolwork, are you?"
((Baha, it's so cute that she thinks that Harry has to 'put up' with Ron. xD))
Eliza hadn't noticed Hermione approach her but her focus instantly shot to her when she heard her speak. "Oh, hey, Hermione. Yeah, I am." She chuckled. "Just finished Charms. I bet you had that done for days, though." Eliza smiled at her. Hermione was always ahead of the game and while Eliza wasn't exactly behind and was doing quite well for herself, it was nothing compared to Hermione.
"What are you up to?" Eliza stretched her arms a little in front of her as she tried to shake off the focus of sitting there writing an essay about... Well, pretty much just how magic worked. They really were starting at the beginning.
